Rebel Black
CEO & Founder, THE RW CollectionFrom humble beginnings on a small property in remote Lightning Ridge, Rebel Black has forged a path as one of rural Australia’s most inspiring entrepreneurs. She kicked off her first business at 22 and never looked back, building a company, leading national initiatives, and founding THE RW Collection, an enterprise incubator supporting legacy-driven rural entrepreneurs.
Rebel is a living example of what’s possible when you back yourself and your community. She has generated more than $50 million in funding across local and national initiatives and successfully navigated a rare “community exit,” selling her company to THE Rural Woman Cooperative, which she co-founded to elevate the voices and ventures of rural women and girls.
With experience in hospitality, tourism, healing, journalism, performance, and agriculture, Rebel brings a fresh, fearless voice to entrepreneurship. She’s a creative too, an emerging singer-songwriter performing at iconic Aussie festivals, and a passionate home grower applying syntropic principles to her family’s half-acre food forest.
Rebel’s message to young people and aspiring changemakers is simple: You are enough. Start where you are. Dream big and do small things every day. Her story is one of resilience, reinvention, and rebellion against the idea that geography defines potential. Whether on stage or in a workshop, Rebel connects deeply through stories, humour, and lived experience, empowering the next generation to not just dream, but do.
