About EnergyCo and the Central West Orana Renewable Energy Zone

Alison will outline who EnergyCo is, what the energy transition is and why it’s important. She will also explain what the renewable energy zones are and provide detail about the Central West Orana Renewable Energy Zone and how participants can get involved in the energy transition.

Alison is passionate about positive outcomes for regional communities. Together with her team, they are committed to helping local communities through the energy transition by increasing local employment and providing upskilling and training opportunities with local renewable energy projects in the Central West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ). Based in Dubbo, Alison is close to the epicentre of the state’s first and most advanced renewable energy zone, the Central-West Orana REZ. Working closely with renewable energy generators, ACEREZ, EnergyCo’s preferred network operator, and local people, Alison strives to optimise local and Aboriginal business development opportunities to benefit REZ communities.

Pathways into the Energy Sector

Paige will discuss her personal journey coming from regional NSW, moving to university gaining internships and graduate programs. She will outline how the Central West Orana Renewable Energy Zone will deliver jobs and opportunities for young people, close to home. Paige will also talk about the types of jobs and skills needed to build the transmission project.

Endeavour Energy Secondary Systems Engineer, ACEREZ

Paige recently completed the graduate program at Endeavour Energy, one of ACEREZ’s three partner organisations. From a young age, Paige has been passionate about sustainability, renewable energy and the transition from fossil fuels. At school, she had a knack for science and maths and went on to study electrical engineering.

Now she’s a leading voice for young women in the industry and the diverse range of jobs the energy sector has to offer. Paige was raised in Armidale in regional NSW. When she’s not busy solving engineering challenges, she enjoys crocheting, hiking and camping, and is teaching herself Norwegian.
